QUEENS — Grainy surveillance footage released by police shows an attacker walking with his victim just before dragging her into the backyard of a College Point apartment building early Wednesday and trying to rape her.
The attack happened just before 4:45 a.m. near 121st Street and 23rd Avenue, where he told the 51-year-old victim that he was armed and that he intended to rape her, police said.
She was able to fight the man off and he then fled south on 121st Street, the NYPD said.
Police described him as a male, 23 to 25 years old, 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds with a tattoo of a cross and Jesus on his right arm.
He was last seen wearing a tank top, dark colored jeans and yellow work boots.
