MEIERS CORNERS — An ex-con was arrested last week after police found drugs and a loaded gun on him outside a Staten Island bar, prosecutors said.

William Figueroa, 44, of West Brighton, was stopped by police outside Legends Pub, at 1975 Victory Blvd., on June 3 at about 11:50 p.m., prosecutors said.

Officers found a loaded Ruger 9 mm gun and three Ziploc bags filled with cocaine on Figueroa, prosecutors said.

When police tried to arrest him, he refused to put his hands behind his back and struggled with officers, prosecutors said.

Figueroa was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and criminal possession of a weapon at his Saturday arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

His bail was set at $100,000 bond, $50,000 cash and he's due back in court on Thursday, according to online court records.

Figueroa was sent to prison three times before. He was most recently released in 2010 after spending nearly a year behind bars for criminal possession of a controlled substance, records show.

His lawyer could not be reached for comment.
