MIDTOWN — The Wu-Tang Clan, John Mayer and D’Angelo are among the headliners set to perform at New York City’s first Roots Picnic in October.

The spinoff of The Roots’ Philadelphia-based music festival will kick off at Bryant Park on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, with The Roots themselves, D’Angelo and John Mayer headlining the first day and the Wu-Tang Clan, Talking Heads' founding member David Byrne and Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers headlining the second day — backed by The Roots.

Trombone and trumpet player Trombone Shorty, indie pop band Echosmith, rapper Kevin Gates, singer Jeremih and DJs Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito will also be featured.

The Roots Picnic has been a Philadelphia staple for the past nine years, with Future, Usher and Leon Bridges headlining this year's show, which took place this past weekend.

The NYC edition will be Bryant Park’s first ticketed concert, Billboard reported.

“There’s going to be pop up shops there, really good curated food, comedy, DJ parties there and acts that you wouldn’t expect,” The Roots’ drummer Questlove told Billboard. “We’re deeply involved in everything, from the grass area to the food you’re gonna eat to the music you’re gonna hear in between.”

Tickets for the Live Nation, Maverick and Bryant Park Corporation-produced show will go on sale on Ticketmaster this Friday, June 10 at 10 a.m.
