WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — Police are looking for a man who stabbed another in the chest over $1,000.

The suspect, Dwayne Glover, 54, approached the victim inside an apartment near 156th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, and demanded that he give him $1,000, police said.

The victim told Glover he didn’t have that much money, but agreed to give him $80 instead, according to police.

Glover then stabbed the victim twice in the chest and fled, police said.

Police said the men were acquaintances and knew each other from social service meetings they both attend. A source said the money appeared to have been a debt between the men.

The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital in critical, but stable condition as of Friday afternoon.
