Ah, Comic Con. The stomping ground for sci-fi fanatics, pop culture lovers, and comic enthusiasts. Last year's Con was a success and led to some great moments including a sighting of a shirtless Deadpool. Check them out, along with more quirky cosplay, here.

This year's Comic Con is set for Oct. 6 - 9. According to the official NYCC website, actress and writer Carrie Fisher is going to be making an appearance alongside iconic comic artists. So keep an eye out for their schedules and any panels they may be in.

But ... getting into this year's Comic Con is going to be a little different. Here are some things you need to know if you're going to attend:

Tickets:

► Tickets for Comic Con will no longer be sold at retail comic stores like Midtown Comics or at events that lead up to the official Comic Con. They are only available online

► VIP tickets are no longer sold online. Everything will now be on a first-come, first-served basis and all tickets will now go on sale at the same time.

► There's a new process for buying tickets online. Comic Con goers have to make a Fan Verification Profile on the official website from May 20 to June 13 (which must be filled out to prove you are not a ticket-hoarding bot). Anyone who has made an account will be notified via email 48 hours before the tickets go on sale. The email includes a unique link for buying tickets when they go on sale. Account holders will be able to buy more than one ticket, but only for a limited amount of time.

► Anyone who has a fan profile cannot buy a ticket for another person who does not have their own profile. Tickets have to be assigned specifically to someone through their profile.

Things to Keep in Mind:

There's going to be a lot of walking around all day at the Jacob Javits Center, so wear comfortable shoes, or try to find a way to sneak cushiony soles and thick socks into your cosplaying.

► Bring cash and extra water. Though many sellers at the convention will be able to swipe cards, machines often malfunction. And there are a lot of places nearby to get food, but some vendors might raise prices due to all the activity. So if you don't want to buy an overpriced bottle of water or bag of chips, bring your own.

► On the Sunday of Comic Con, children between the ages of 6-12 will be admitted for only $10.
