LOWER EAST SIDE — A man posing as an Uber driver robbed and threatened to sexually assault a woman he picked up on Houston Street, police said.

The victim got into the black sedan on May 15 at Mangin and E. Houston streets at 1:30 a.m. The driver told her it was an Uber car that she'd requested, police said.

As the suspect drove north on the FDR drive, the victim realized he was not taking her toward her home, according to a police report.

The driver then demanded the victim’s money while threatening to shoot and sexually assault her, police said.

The victim handed over her iPhone, wallet, $20 in cash, MetroCard, jacket and gold earrings as the driver exited the highway at an unknown location above E. 96th Street, according to authorities.

The victim was able to escape the vehicle uninjured while it was stopped at a red light on Park Avenue, police said.

Police have released a sketch of the driver, described as in his 30s with short hair and a beard.

Uber did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
