TRIBECA — Firefighters rescued a boy who got his head stuck between two metal bars in a Manhattan fence Tuesday morning, police said.

The boy, whose age wasn't immediately released, got stuck across the street from 16 Ericsson Place, near Varick Street, about 11:12 a.m., an NYPD spokesman said.

"He was screaming. He was not happy," said radio producer Scott Boudin, 40, who passed by the scene on his way home.

"He wasn't saying anything. It was more a nervous 'get me the hell out of here' yell," Boudin added.

The boy, who wore a short-sleeved polo shirt, was quickly removed from the fence and treated at Lower Manhattan Hospital, according to Boudin and police.

It wasn't clear why he stuck his head between the metal bars or if he's a student at the nearby TriBeCa Community School.

"I couldn't tell you how he got into the fence. It was strange," Boudin said.

Boudin praised firefighters and police who helped the kid.
