EAST WILLIAMSBURG — The city is accepting applications for four subsidized apartments in a new building with a roof deck, located across from Cooper Park and a short walk to the L train.

One- and two-bedroom apartments in the new building at 30, 42 Orient Ave. will rent for $947 and $1,072 monthly, respectively.

Households that earn between $32,469 and $54,360 a year are eligible to apply. One- and two-person families can apply if they earn up to $43,500 annually for one-bedroom apartments.

Larger families with up to four members who earn between $36,755 and $54,360 a year can apply for two-bedroom apartments.

There are 18 apartments in total in the building, according to developers Astral Weeks, and they'll be equipped with dishwashers, washer/dryers and private balconies, though it's not clear if the affordable apartments will have those same amenities.

Some of the affordable apartments will be in a section of the building that has access to a roof deck, according to the city's application.

The building also has private storage units and bike storage.

The subsidized apartments were funded through the controversial 421-a tax break program, which expired earlier this year.

Applications are due by June 15.
