STAPLETON — A 9-year-old boy was hit by a car and critically injured Thursday while walking across the street to board his school bus, according to police and reports.
The boy was crossing in front of 103 Targee St., near Broad Street, at about 7:50 a.m. when he was hit by a driver, the NYPD said.
He was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where he's listed in critical condition, police said.
A witness told the Staten Island Advance that the boy was crossing the street to board a school bus.
The driver remained on the scene and has not been charged, police said.
