THE BRONX — A Bronx livery cab driver was attacked by two passengers on Saturday night, one of whom threw him to the ground and threatened to kill him for being Muslim, according to police and reports.

Sirajul Islam Khan, a Muslim who has lived in The Bronx for 20 years, picked up a male and female passenger on Saturday at Bedford Park and Webster Avenue, according to the NYPD and News 12, which first reported the attack.

The passengers started punching him in the face at E. Tremont Avenue and Park Avenue around 8:10 p.m. and stole his iPhone and $170, police said.

Khan got out of the car, but his male assailant got out as well, where he threw Khan to the ground, beat him and said he would kill him because he was a Muslim, reports said.

Khan has not decided yet if he will go back to work, News 12 reported.
