CHELSEA — An unidentified man punched a woman as she walked her dog in Chelsea on Sunday night, breaking her nose in an apparently unprovoked attack, according to a police report.

The woman, 52, was strolling with her pooch shortly after 10 p.m. on West 15th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues on May 22 when an unknown man started acting aggressively and upset, police said.

The man, who the woman said she didn’t know, started yelling at the dogwalker, screaming at her to “get out of my face” before throwing an unidentified object at her and punching her in the face, fracturing her nose, according to a police spokesman.

The attacker, who was last seen wearing a baseball cap, a jacket, pants and sneakers, fled west on 15th Street and escaped, police said.

The victim was not hospitalized for her injuries, according to police.
