Serial Thief Hits Five Manhattan Stores, Police Say

MANHATTAN — A serial electronics thief has been lifting items from retail businesses in Manhattan, according to police.

The NYPD released security footage of the suspect in a baseball cap, black winter coat and purple sneakers.

On Monday, March 21 at 5:40 p.m. he stole two phones from a display case at the AT&T store at 350 Park Ave. Later that same day at 6:35 p.m. he stole an iPad from the counter of a Staples at 675 Third Ave., police said.

He waited a week before he struck again on Monday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m., when he stole a cellphone from the Russell Cellular DBA store at 873 Eighth Ave.

Nearly a month later on Monday, April 18 at 4:30 p.m. he stole two cellphones from a shelf at the Verizon store at 555 Sixth Ave.

Finally on Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. the man hit another Verizon location at 836 Lexington Ave., where he stole two cellphones, police said.
