WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — An 18-story hotel with office space and a restaurant on the top floor is set to rise on Amsterdam Avenue, according to permits filed with the city.

Developer Youngwoo & Associates purchased the property at 2420 Amsterdam Ave. at West 180th Street for $12 million in 2013, city records showed.

Its plan is to build a mixed-used tower with 192 total units and 169 indoor parking spaces, as well as office and retail space, Department of Buildings filings showed.

The building's second floor will feature 39 hotel rooms, the third and fourth floors will have 38 hotel rooms each, and the fifth through 10th floors will have 13 hotel rooms each mixed with office space and an event space on the ninth floor, records showed. The 11th floor will have 10 hotel rooms, and the remaining floors will be reserved for office space, topped by a restaurant on the 18th floor. A gym is planned for the lobby.

The building site, previously a gas station, is slated to take up approximately 214,012 square feet, according to The Real Deal.

The developer declined to comment on the project.

Two hotels have opened up in Washington Heights within the past year. The Cliff Hotel at 505 W. 181st St. near Amsterdam Avenue opened in mid-summer last year, while the Edge Hotel at 514 W. 168th St. opened in the fall.
