
BRONX — A man who dropped a loaded revolver in front of a 5-year-old boy was arrested in East Tremont Wednesday, police said.
A 911 caller said two men were handling a gun at at 509 E. Tremont Ave. around 5:30 p.m., according to the NYPD.
Officers spotted two men who fit the 911 caller’s description — Hasib Sample, 27, and Marquis Daniels, 26 — outside Beauty NVY and followed Sample to a crowded bus stop on Tremont Avenue.
One officer found a loaded .44-caliber Magnum Taurus on the ground near the stop. A startled mother told the officer she had seen Sample drop his weapon in front of her and her 5-year-old son just moments before, police said.
Sample and Daniels were both arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm. Sample was also charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child and reckless endangerment.
