LOWER EAST SIDE — A man hurled an unknown object at a bodega employee shortly after midnight on May 15, then came back threatening to kill all of the employees with a gun, police said.

The man entered the bodega at 197 Madison St. around 12:20 a.m. and got into a verbal altercation with an employee, according to authorities.

He then grabbed a nearby object — possibly a bottle — and threw it at the victim, causing a laceration to the side of his stomach, according to a police report.

The suspect left the bodega, but returned a few seconds later with a black handgun, saying “I am going to kill you guys,” police said.

The suspect then fled eastbound on Madison Street, according to authorities.

The investigation is still ongoing, police said.

Employees at the bodega could not immediately be reached for comment.
