BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A six-story day care center could soon rise along Bed-Stuy’s Park Avenue, according to city records.
Plans were filed this month for a building with 49,216 square feet of community space at 430 Park Ave. near the corner of Kent Avenue.
The property is currently home to a lot with parking for trucks, located in a mostly industrial area.
The proposed space would serve infants under six months old and children aged two through six, plans show.
It is set to have a pool and kitchen in the cellar, a reception area and laundry room on the first floor and classrooms, play areas and offices from the first through fifth floors.
Offices, conference rooms and a staff lounge would fill the top level, and an outdoor play area would be built on the roof, as first reported by New York YIMBY.
Williamsburg Infant & Early Childhood Development Center, Inc. picked up the property in 2008 for $2.05 million, according to city records.
A representative for the center did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
