UPPER EAST SIDE — Actor Alan Cumming has been busy singing "Sappy Songs" on tour but on Wednesday he took time out to warn fans to be careful when buying tickets to his shows.

A 68-year-old Upper East Side resident was scammed out of $180 when she realized she bought two fake tickets on Craigslist for the "Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs" show on May 14, according to the NYPD.

The woman didn't find out she was duped until she arrived at the theater in Port Washington, N.Y. and was told that her tickets were no good — three days after she'd bought them — police said.

She reported the scam to police on Tuesday.

Cumming retweeted the 19th Precinct's post on Wednesday that warned residents to beware of scams.

The 19th Precinct promptly thanked Cumming for getting the word out.

No arrests have been made and police are still investigating the scam.
