SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — A hip, and huge, new vegan restaurant is on its way to the South Street Seaport.

By Chloe, a fast-casual vegan restaurant known for its vegan burgers and other veggie-based comfort foods is opening a 2,500-square-foot location on Pier 17 —  a pier currently being reconstructed that will be home to a massive, multi-level, glass shopping center, with a roof deck for lounging and events.

The restaurant, which first opened in 2015 in Greenwich Village, is slated to open in 2017, when the pier and its new, sleek mall is set to open, the Wall Street Journal first reported.

By Chloe is the latest trendy food announcement for developer Howard Hughes' revamped South Street Seaport.

Acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will helm a new seafood-inspired food market at the base of Pier 17, inside a landmarked Fulton Fish Market warehouse, the Tin Building, which the Hughes company is planning to refurbish.

David Chang, of Momofuku fame, is also slated to open a new restaurant on Pier 17.
