SOHO — Pop Up Repair, an "itinerant repair service for household items," is bringing its roving group of handyman artists to SoHo.

The venture is staffed by backstage artists with experience in theater, film and television, who put their fix-it skills to work in varying New York City neighborhoods.

"Our aim is to create a larger conversation about the things we make, buy, use and discard," said Pop Up Repair founder Sandra Goldmark, who views the service as "an alternative to over-consumption and waste."

The group will be posted up in the Patagonia store at 72 Greene St. in SoHo from May 21 through June 1, offering services to anyone with torn sweaters, ripped jeans, cracked teacups, broken chairs or any other household items in need of repair.

May 21 will feature special repair workshops for kids and adults, where the "fixers" will show people what they do.
