MIDTOWN — A woman bit a police officer's ankle as he tried to arrest her for breaking a yellow cab’s windshield, the NYPD said.

The officer came upon the toothy attacker, 21-year-old Shavana Samuel, at the southeast corner of East 52nd Street and Park Avenue, where he saw her holding onto the cab around 10:51 a.m. on May 9, according to the criminal complaint.

The cab’s windshield had been shattered, and when the officer approached Samuel, she told him she broke it “because he took a picture of [her] and didn’t want to delete it," the complaint said.

It was not clear whether she was referring to the cabdriver or a passenger, but when the officer tried to arrest Samuel, she started flailing her arms and kicking her legs, the complaint added.

Samuel then bit a second police officer on the ankle, leaving him in pain, police and the complaint said.

She was arrested and charged with two counts of assault, one count of criminal mischief, one count of resisting arrest, one count of aggravated harassment, one count of attempted assault and one count of harassment, the complaint said.

Samuel was released on her own recognizance and is expected to next appear in court on June 14, the Manhattan DA’s office said.

An attorney for Samuel did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
