UPPER WEST SIDE — Everyone in the pool!

Whether you're a child or an adult, swimming lessons are a lot of fun, provide exercise and teach lifesavings skills.

Here's a handful of group and private lessons, as well as lessons for anyone wanting to improve their strokes:

SwimJim

Swimjim has three location on or near the Upper West Side: 808 Columbus Ave., 666 West End Ave. and 725 10th Ave. in the Skyline Hotel. Swimming lessons are available for all ages including adults, and start at $41 for a half-hour and up to $100 for a 30-minute private class. If you attend a class twice in one week, there’s a 30 percent discount on the second session. Lessons are billed monthly, and you need to give written warning one month in advance if you want to opt out.

JCC Manhattan

The JCC Manhattan, on Amsterdam Avenue and West 76th Street, includes a pool with a multimillion-dollar view of the city skyline. Swim lessons are offered to participants as young as 6 months to senior citizens, and classes can be held in private or in group. Members of JCC generally get a discount on prices. (Four-plus months of swimming lessons for an 18-month-old runs $666 for members and $846 for the general public.) Another benefit for members is that registration opens for them ahead of the general public. There are also lessons that cater specifically to those with special needs, as well as a summer camp with a focus on swimming.

Take Me to the Water

Tucked away inside 247 W. 87th St. is a small pool that’s perfect for swimming lessons. The program's Baby and Me classes, for children 6 months old and up, is $40 for a 30-minute group lesson. Classes for those 5 and older, as well as lessons for adults, cost $45. There’s also the Gators Swim Team for children 6 to 14 years old. For those who join for one or two sessions a week, the goal is to fine-tune the four major strokes, as well as turns and starts.

ProSwim NYC

If you're blessed with a pool in your building, instructor Gilda Dobrica will teach you or your child to swim right at home. While mostly offering lessons in TriBeCa, she occasionally heads to private pools for her Upper West Side clients. Dobrica is available to teach adults and kids ranging in experience from beginner to advanced. If you're up for teaching your own child, Dobrica also has an e-course available. Contact her for prices.

Red Tide Swim Team

If you already know how to swim but want to be pushed, Red Tide is for you. The group swim sessions happen multiple times a day all over the city, including at John Jay Criminal Justice College at West 59th Street and 10th Avenue. There’s a $70 membership fee. A drop-in swim session is $25, a pass of 10 costs $190 and unlimited swim sessions are $160 a month.
