TIMES SQUARE — An attacker punched an MTA conductor and called him a “p---y” after the conductor told him the Q train wasn’t running to Astoria, police said.

The 29-year-old conductor from Brooklyn was looking out of a northbound N train window inside the 49th Street station near Seventh Avenue around 2:40 a.m. May 7 when a man came up to him and asked him if the train was going to Astoria, the NYPD said.

After the conductor responded, “No, just the N,” the man called the conductor a “p---y” and punched him in the right side of his face, police said.

The attacker fled the station, and the conductor stopped at the 57th Street-Seventh Avenue subway station to report the incident, the NYPD said.

The conductor was transported to Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment, according to police.

Police searched the 49th Street station but didn’t find the attacker, the NYPD said.

An MTA spokeswoman Thursday confirmed the assault took place.

“Any attack on our employees is an attack on all of us,” spokeswoman Amanda Kwan said.

“We remain committed to the safety and security of our employees and will continue to work with the NYPD to track down this perpetrator and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law."
