ROOSEVELT ISLAND — Police are searching for a woman who stole a $10,000 watch and credit card at the Roosevelt Island subway station in April.

A 51-year-old woman left her shopping bag on a bench inside the station at roughly 3:45 p.m. on April 18, according to authorities.

The female suspect picked up the bag, which contained the watch and the victim's credit card and walked out of the station with it, according to police.

Police could not immediately say where in the station the theft took place or what kind of watch was taken.

The NYPD described the woman as in her 50s, wearing dark colored clothes and a gray knit cap.

Photos from a surveillance camera at the station show the woman walking through the turnstile holding the light brown bag in the air.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
