MIDTOWN — A fashion-conscious thief seen sporting a Louis Vuitton-patterned scarf charged tens of thousands of dollars to a stolen debit card over a period of months, the NYPD said.

Between mid-December and March, the suspect used the card 180 times in Queens, racking up a total of $28,000 in charges, police said.

The debit card was stolen somewhere in the Midtown North Precinct, the NYPD said. The suspect was spotted in surveillance footage wearing the designer scarf along with sunglasses and a baseball cap.

Police could not say to whom the card belonged, how the thief managed to get it or what the thief purchased.

It was also not clear where in Queens the card was used or why it wasn't canceled after going missing.

The NYPD asks anyone with information to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
