WOODSIDE — Police are searching for a man who punched a woman as she was walking down the stairs to a subway station in Queens earlier this month.
The suspect was coming up the stairs from the 65th Street station in Woodside as the 74-year-old woman was heading down into the station shortly after 5 p.m. on May 1, according to the NYPD.
Police say the man "got in her face," and then punched the victim once in the head before fleeing the station. The woman was treated at Elmhurst Hospital and released, police said.
Video footage of the suspect released by the NYPD shows him walking down a nearby sidewalk, carrying shopping bags while wearing jeans and a red jacket.
