UPPER EAST SIDE — A burglar crawled through an open window of an East 74th Street apartment last week and stole more than $6,000 in property, according to the NYPD.
A 23-year-old man returned home from work at about 10:15 p.m. on May 4 to discover two watches and two MacBooks missing, police said.
The watches were worth $2,000 and $300, and the laptops were worth $2,000 and $1,800, according to authorities.
The victim told police that he had left his window open when he left for work at 8:45 a.m. and when he returned, the window was closed and the door was still locked.
The 19th Precinct warned residents last week to make sure their doors and windows are locked to prevent other burglaries like this from happening.
