Corrections Officer Charged With Raping 13-Year-Old Girl, Police Say

By Kathleen Culliton | May 10, 2016 5:15pm

QUEENS — A New York City corrections officer was charged with raping a 13-year-old girl after he turned himself in on Tuesday, police said.

Robert Bradley, 42, was arrested when he presented himself at the Special Victims Division in the 112th Precinct at 68-40 Austin St. in Forest Hills around 10:30 a.m., police said.

The 13-year-old told a guidance counselor that she had been raped by someone she knew on May 8, a law enforcement source said.

The Department of Corrections told DNAinfo Tuesday evening that Bradley has been suspended from his duties.

Another law enforcement source said Bradley has been with the department for 11 years, and he was not on duty at the time of the incident.

Bradley, who has no criminal record, has been charged with first-degree rape and unlawful dealing with a child, police said.

A DOC spokeswoman said in a statement, "The vast majority of Department of Correction staff perform their duties with the highest level of integrity and Commissioner Ponte has zero tolerance for those who don’t.”
