THE BRONX — Parents looking for free pre-k seats can still find several openings throughout The Bronx, as more than 100 programs in the borough have available spots.

Although a record 85 percent of families received offers to one of their top three choices for free pre-k programs in the city, Bronx parents who are unhappy with their child's placement have many remaining options in the borough.

The city opened its second round of pre-k admissions on May 2 and added almost 65 new programs to its roster, including one at the Saint Peter and Paul Parochial Elementary School in Melrose and one at Tender Years Child Care in Schuylerville.

Families have until May 20 to apply for round two pre-k programs, and doing so will not impact their waitlist status at schools from round one, officials said.

Parents can also still apply for pre-k spots in the second round if they already applied or accepted an offer from round one.
