FINANCIAL DISTRICT — Artisanal mini-chain Meltkraft is expanding its dairy farm-to-table grilled cheese sandwich shop.

Meltkraft, which only uses cheese from its owner's farm in New Jersey for its decadent sandwiches, is slated to open a cozy new location at 3 Hanover Square in June.

The eatery, which has locations in Philadelphia and opened its first city shop in Park Slope three years ago, now has storefronts on MacDougal Street and in Midtown.

Along with its expertly made cheese, the shop has become known for its rich sandwiches. Menu items include the the Valley Thunder sandwich, which melts brisket, macaroni and cheese and aged cheddar together, and the Melter Skelter, which includes Raclette-style cheese, barbecue potato chips, jalapeno peppers, watercress and pickled green tomatoes.

Community Board 1 supported the restaurant's application for a beer, wine and cider license.
