PARK SLOPE — The city has opened up a second round of free pre-K admissions for this coming fall and plenty of seats are still up for grabs in Park Slope, Gowanus and Windsor Terrace.
The Department of Education launched a new round of pre-K admissions Monday and parents have until May 20 to apply. The DOE added nearly 65 programs to the second round of admissions, and there are still unfilled seats from the first round available at roughly 1,000 schools and pre-K centers citywide.
Families in Brooklyn's kid-filled District 15 have many options, including seats at the following sites:
► Windsor Terrace: The well-regarded and huge pre-K center (there are about 500 seats) in the former Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School building at 500 19th St. (between 10th and Prospect avenues).
► Gowanus: A total of 54 seats at the new Little Brooklyn Pre-K Center at 305-307 Third Ave. (between Carroll and First streets).
► Park Slope: The Strong Place for Hope Day Care Center (333 Second St. between Fifth and Sixth avenues) and the A.C.E. Early Childhood Center (199 14th St. between Fourth and Fifth avenues).
