BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Free pre-K seats are still available in central Brooklyn’s School District 16, with programs open in northern Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Some families have already received offers to their top choices, but if you’re looking for a different option 27 programs have spots across the neighborhoods.

The Department of Education’s second round of applications began on Monday and parents who applied in the first round or have already accepted an offer are eligible to submit.

Applying in round two won’t affect your waitlist status at schools from round one, officials said, and families have until May 20.

About 65 new programs were added to the city’s list for Round 2 options, including Brightside Academy on DeKalb and Throop avenues in Bed-Stuy, with 14 full-day seats.
