GREENWICH VILLAGE — A police officer was arrested in Greenwich Village for assaulting a neighborhood bar bouncer while off-duty, the NYPD said.

Officer Gerardo Bugalloberet, 26, assaulted a bouncer at the Three Sheets Saloon near NYU about 1:30 a.m. on May 2, police said. He was assigned to a Bronx precinct, but police would not specify which one.

A spokesman for the NYPD said he did not know whether Bugalloberet had been at the West Third Street bar prior to the incident.

Bugalloberet joined the NYPD in July 2014, according to city records.

A representative for Three Sheets Saloon declined to comment.
