THE BRONX — Applications are open for 20 new affordable apartments in The Bronx, with rents starting as low as $975 for a studio.

The apartments are spread across six buildings in the borough, with prices ranging from $975 to $1,146 per month for studios, $1,164 to $1,296 for one-bedrooms, $1,498 to $1,553 for two-bedrooms and $1,709 for a three-bedroom.

The homes are located as follows:

► Five units each at 1585 E. 172nd St. and 1589-91 E. 172nd St.

► Four units each at 1350 University Ave. and 1268 Stratford Ave.

► One unit each at 1265 Morrison Ave. and 1479 Macombs Road

Units are available for households making between $34,766 and $126,120 per year, and eligible municipal employees; residents of Bronx Community Boards 4 and 9; and people with mobile, visual or hearing disabilities will get priority for a percentage of the apartments.

Applications are due by June 24. No late applications will be considered.

Prospective tenants can apply for the apartments online at the city's Housing Connect website. They can also request an application by mail by sending a self-addressed envelope to MGM Apartments, c/o Bronx Pro Real Estate Management, Inc., 1605 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Bronx, NY 10453.
