FINANCIAL DISTRICT — At least one fledgling Peregrine falcon hatched Thursday on the 14th-story ledge of a Downtown office tower — and more are on their way.
The hatchling, one of about five eggs laid by falcon mom Adele on a perch at 55 Water St., is seen underneath her mom in the live "Falcon Cam" — which you can check out below:
It appears the first little bird was born Thursday morning. The eggs have been incubating for more than a month now.
Pairs of Peregrines have been nesting on the 54-story building since the 90s and a live webcast has been running for more than 10 years, with the exception of 2013, when Hurricane Sandy damage shut the popular cam down.
