LOWER EAST SIDE — A trio of teens robbed and assaulted a man as he was walking home from a bar in the early morning hours of April 22, police said.

The man, who was intoxicated, told police he was walking down an unknown street — possibly Essex Street — near Delancey Street at around 3:30 a.m. when three teenagers approached him. One of the suspects said "Give us your money" as another simulated a handgun in the pocket of his hoodie, police said.

The victim tried to talk his way out of the situation, according to police, but ended up walking with the suspects to an ATM and withdrawing $100. The victim was then was forced to buy beer and cigars at a nearby bodega for the suspects, according to a police report.

The suspects then coerced the victim into walking to the Williamsburg Bridge footpath, where one of them choked him from behind until he lost consciousness, authorities said.

The victim woke up with a contusion and laceration to his forehead, leading him to believe he had been thrown to the ground, and many of his belongings missing, police said.

The suspects had taken $200, several credit and debit cards, the victim's driver's license, and his social security card, according to authorities.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
