CLAREMONT — A woman stole two containers of Dove body wash from a beauty and nail supply store on Friday evening and attacked a worker who confronted her, police said.

The robbery took place around 6:20 p.m. in the salon at 961 E. 174th St., when the woman came in and put two containers of body wash into her bag, according to the NYPD.

Tana Son, who works in the salon, confronted the thief but was attacked by her and another woman who had been waiting outside of the store, Son said.

"The other woman was holding my arms, and she was scratching my neck," Son said. "I was screaming to call police."

Both women then ran out of the store, Son said.

Surveillance video shows the suspected thief taking the Dove bottles off of the shelf and sticking them into her bag as she walks through the store.

Police said they were only aware of one suspect in the case and described her as a woman who stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair in a ponytail.

She was last seen carrying a shopping bag and black bookbag and wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt with cartoon characters in front of it and black sneakers with white bottoms, police said.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's crime stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
