EAST VILLAGE — A new Aussie coffee shop opens Monday on Astor Place, and in honor of the country’s veterans’ day some of the proceeds from every flat white ordered will go to the Bowery Mission.

Bluestone Lane’s newly opened outpost at 51 Astor Place will be slinging Australia’s signature expresso beverage for a cause throughout ANZAC Day, a national holiday in Australia and New Zealand commemorating veterans who have served both countries.

Fifty cents of each flat white — essentially an extra-smooth latte that is more java-heavy on the coffee-to-milk ratio — will go toward the Bowery Mission’s programs to help the community’s homeless and at-risk youth.

The coffee chain, based out of Melbourne, Australia, has a number of coffee shops throughout the city, as well as cafes in the West Village and Upper East Side offering artisanal brunch menus.

The Astor Place coffee shop will be offering the charitable special through Monday, April 25, until closing at 8 p.m.
