THE BRONX — Turns out people still like the Yankees.

The subway stop at 161st St-Yankee Stadium saw the most riders throughout the borough in 2015, at least the sixth year in a row that this has been the case, according to the MTA.

However, ridership was actually down slightly at the station compared to 2014, dropping from about 8,960,000 to about 8,920,000, the agency said.

A total of 37 stations in The Bronx saw their ridership numbers go down in 2015, while the other 31 stops saw their numbers go up, the data show.

The Castle Hill Avenue stop on the 6 train saw the biggest increase by far, with ridership going up by more than 45 percent between 2014 and 2015, while the Zerega Avenue stop on the 6 train saw the biggest decrease, with a 17.8 percent drop in riders.

These two statistics may be related, as the Zerega Avenue stop was closed for a significant portion of 2015, and Castle Hill Avenue is just one station away.

Only three Bronx subway stations cracked the top 100 for ridership throughout all of New York City in 2015: 161st St-Yankee Stadium at number 39, 3rd Avenue-149th Street (The Hub) at 58 with about 7.4 million riders and Parkchester at 90 with about 5.2 million riders.
