Two Men Stabbed in the Back While Waiting for Uber, Police Say

LOWER EAST SIDE — Two men were stabbed in the back by a couple of unknown assailants while waiting for an Uber ride in the early morning hours of April 17.

The victims were standing at the corner of Rivington and Ludlow streets at 4:20 a.m. when two men ran up behind them and stabbed them in the back with unidentified weapons before fleeing in an unknown direction, police said. 

The suspects may have used knives or box cutters, according to authorities.

One of the suspects wore a baseball cap, while the other wore a light button-down shirt and blue jeans, the victims told police.

Both victims had visible lacerations on their backs following the incident, authorities said.

Other recent crimes in the 7th Precinct include:

► A violent trio assaulted a man in front of 208 Delancey St. and ran off with his two cellphones.

The victim was looking at one of his phones at 10 a.m. on April 16 when the three assailants walked up to him and grabbed his phone out of his hand, police said.

The perps then punched him in the head multiple times with their fists, causing injuries to his head, according to a police report.

The trio, described as being between the ages of 19 and 25, snatched the victim's Samsung Galaxy phone and LG4 phone before fleeing eastbound on Delancey Street, authorities said.

The total value of the stolen phones is roughly $1,000, according to a police report.

► A thief snatched a man's phone from his hand before fleeing the scene, police said.

The 55-year-old victim was smoking in front of 81 Ludlow St. on April 17 at 9:05 p.m. when the perp, described as around 17 years old, ran up behind him and snatched his Sony phone from his hand, authorities said.

The perp fled eastbound on Broome Street and was not pursued by the victim, according to a police report.
