FOREST HILLS — Country and bluegrass star Chris Stapleton will play Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, according to event organizers.
The singer-songwriter will take the stage on July 23 with special guest Brandy Clark, joining a packed summer concert schedule at the stadium that includes acts like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Dolly Parton and Flight of the Conchords, organizers said.
Stapleton was known for writing songs for some of country music's biggest names including Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Darius Rucker. But in 2015, he released his first album of "Traveller," which sold over 1 million copies, and included the hit "Tennessee Whiskey".
Stapleton won Album of the Year from the Country Music Association and the Grammy for Best Country Album.
