BROOKLYN — A man carrying a "large quantity" of heroin was fatally shot in the face while sitting in his car in Bedford-Stuyvesant Tuesday night, police said.
The 24-year-old, whose name wasn't immediately released, had just walked out of 891 Hancock St., near Howard Avenue, about 10:40 p.m. and got into his car when another man left a nearby building, walked up to the car and shot him, an NYPD spokesman said.
He was pronounced dead at Woodhull Medical Center, police said.
The suspect, who is described as 5 feet 9 inches, wore a hoodie and fled north on Howard Avenue, police said. He hadn't been arrested as of Wednesday morning, police said.
The victim was carrying a "large quantity" of heroin, an NYPD spokesman said.
