Man Beaten With Metal Shovel and Garbage Can in Robbery, NYPD Says

THE BRONX — Three attackers beat a man with a metal shovel and garbage can, knocking him to the ground, before stealing his wallet Sunday evening, police said.

The men, who can be seen in surveillance photos standing above the 37-year-old victim's body and kicking him, attacked the victim at the intersection of Union Avenue and East 163rd Street about 6 p.m., NYPD officials said.

The victim suffered multiple injuries and was treated at Lincoln Hospital, where he's listed in stable condition, police said.

The trio of attackers stole his wallet and fled, NYPD officials said.

One wore a black skull cap, gray hoodie, black pants and black sneakers, police said.

Another wore a gray hoodie, gray jeans and purple sneakers, police said.

The third had a gray hoodie with a black checkered design, white pants and black sneakers, police said.
