HELL’S KITCHEN — A thief stole nearly $1,000 worth of medicine, urine sample cups and other supplies from Mount Sinai West Hospital, police said.

The 32-year-old man was inside the hospital at 1000 10th Ave. around 4:30 p.m. on April 4 when the hospital’s assistant director of security saw him take epinephrine, dextrose, urine sample cups and forceps from a hospital shelf and put them in a bag, a complaint filed with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said.

He then tried to leave the hospital, police said.

The man was arrested and charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, the DA’s office said.

The medicine and items he tried to steal were valued at a total of $963.55, police said.

The case was disposed of with “a plea to petit larceny and conditional discharge involving a three-day jail sentence and treatment program,” the DA’s office said.

An attorney for the man did not immediately respond to request for comment on Wednesday.

“The incident is now under police investigation and we are cooperating with the authorities,” a spokeswoman at Mount Sinai Health System said in a statement on Tuesday.
