LOWER MANHATTAN — A woman was attacked by a man wielding a cane near City Hall Park, police said.

The 36-year-old woman was stuck on the back of the head and on her leg as she walked on Broadway and Barclay Street at about 11:20 a.m. on April 5, authorities said.

She was left with swelling and pain, according to a criminal complaint.

Her alleged attacker, Brendan Gory, 51, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

He's being held without bail. It was not immediately clear why bail was not set for Gory.

Gory's court-appointed lawyer did not immediately return request for comment.
