WILLIAMSBURG — A man waiting for a friend outside a liquor store was robbed at knife point by a stranger who told him to empty his pockets, then stabbed him in the arm with a "ninja knife," according to police.

The 50-year-old victim was waiting to get a couple of beers outside Moore Street Liquors at 106 Moore St. in Williamsburg at 12:45 a.m. April 3, when a stranger approached him, police said.

"Empty your pockets," the thief said, prompting the man to drop his wallet and two cellphones to the ground before trying to push the other man away, according to police.

The attacker than flashed a black martial arts knife, police said, and stabbed the 50-year-old in the left arm. The robber snatched $19 in cash, the man's Lifeline Assistance "Obama Phone" — a federally funded free cellphone — his Samsung Note 4, his Social Security and health insurance card, police said. The mugger fled on foot, police said.

The victim first walked back to his home, then to Woodhull Hospital, where he received three stitches, according to police.

As of Monday, no one had been arrested for the robbery, police confirmed.

Workers at Moore Street Liquors couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
