MIDTOWN — A driver knocked a traffic agent over with his car while speeding away to avoid a ticket she was writing him, police said.

The 34-year-old agent, from Brooklyn, was issuing the driver a summons for blocking a crosswalk at the southeast corner of West 54th Street and Sixth Avenue around 10:15 a.m. on March 31 when the suspect drove off at a “high rate of speed,” the NYPD said.

The driver knocked the traffic agent backwards before she had a chance to place the ticket on his vehicle, police said.

The traffic agent taken from scene by an EMT after she complained of pain to her right leg, the NYPD said.

Police were still searching for the driver.
