PROSPECT HEIGHTS — Move over, Ample Hills — dessert options on Vanderbilt Avenue are about to get a lot more filling.

A new pie shop and cafe, Daly Pie, is set to open in Prospect Heights this summer, bringing seasonal pies, savories and drinks to a storefront at 665 Vanderbilt Ave. near Park Place, its owner said.

Owner Meghan Daly said she’s hoping to open the new shop by June. The eatery would be her first brick-and-mortar location for her 5-year-old online pie-making business of the same name that she started after a career in a “super corporate” job in marketing operations, she said.

“I sort of just jumped ship into pies, which are something that I love,” she said. “So far, so good!”

The new shop will have a rotating selection of slices or whole pies with a mix of traditional to more creative flavors, Daly said.

“Everything I do is seasonal, so lots of fruit pies because they’re my favorite … [flavors] go from the classic apple, which is my mom’s recipe, to things like candied ginger blackberry peach or apple blackberry or cherry almond crumble,” she said. “I have about 100 pie flavors that rotate in and out.”

Whole pies from the company range in price online from $30 (“Salty Lime” and “Spicy Chocolate Love”) to $38 for a gluten-free version of her “Peanut Butter Insanity” pie.

Slices at the new cafe will sell for $5 or $6, Daly said. The shop’s menu will also include coffee and, hopefully, beer and wine, she said. Daly is planning to apply for a liquor license with the local community board next month.

“It’s going to be more than pie,” she said. “There will be many complimentary offerings that will make it a really fun place to go,” including a backyard space that can seat between 10 and 15 people.

Daly Pie will join a handful of pie-centric businesses that have opened in the area recently, including an outpost of Four & Twenty Blackbirds at the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza and Butter & Scotch's first brick-and-mortar on Franklin Avenue in nearby Crown Heights.
