Service Changes Scheduled for 12 Subway Lines This Weekend

NEW YORK — Brace for a weekend of disrupted service along 12 subway lines due to ongoing construction and maintenance work.

2 Train:  From 11:30 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, service is suspended between Flatbush Avenue and Franklin Avenue. There will be free shuttle buses between Franklin Avenue and Flatbush Avenue. 

4 Train: Between 11:45 p.m. on Friday to 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, uptown 4 trains will run express from Grand Central-42nd St to 125 St. 

Throughout the spring, uptown 4 trains will continue to skip 103 St. For service to this station, take an uptown 4 or 6 train to 125th St. and then transfer to a downtown local train.

5 Train: Service will be suspended between Dyre Ave. and East 180 St., between 11:30 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday. There will be free shuttle buses provided between the stops throughout the weekend. 

6 Train: From 11:45 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, uptown 6 trains will run express between Grand Central-42nd St. through 125 St.

Downtown 6 trains will run express between Hunts Points Avenue to 3rd Avenue-138 St., and from 14 St. Union Sq. through Brooklyn Bridge. 

Through the spring, the uptown 6 trains will skip 103 St. For service to this station, straphangers are advised to take an uptown 4 or 6 train to 125th St. and then transfer to a downtown local train.

7 Train: Between 12:15 a.m. Saturday and 4:30 a.m. Monday, train service will be suspended in both directions between Times Square-42nd Street and Queensboro Plaza. There will be a shuttle bus between Vernon Blvd.-Jackson Avenue and Queensboro Plaza. 

The MTA recommends using the E, F, G, N, Q R, lines, shuttle buses and subways, and the NY Waterway's East River Ferry for alternate service.

Service will be disrupted two more weekends this spring. After a summer reprieve, work will resume on the train again this fall

A Train: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, A trains will be rerouted on the F line between West 4th St. and Jay St.-Metro Tech, in both directions. 

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5:00 a.m., A trains will run local in both directions between West 4th St. and 59th St. Columbus Circle, and between 125th St. and 168th St.

At all times until Monday, Brooklyn-bound trains will skip 111 St. and 80 St. 

For service to 111 St., take the A to 104th St. and transfer to a Lefferts Blvd.-bound train or take the Q112 bus. For service from this station take the A to Lefferts Blvd. and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound train. 

For service to 80 St., take the A train to Grant Avenue and transfer to an Ozone Park/Far Rockaway-bound train. For service from this station, take the A to 88 St. and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound train. 

C Train: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, C trains will be rerouted on the F line between West 4th St. and Jay St-Metro Tech, in both directions. 

Between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, there will be no C train service between 145 St. and 168 St. The MTA recommends taking the A instead. 

D Train: Trains will stop at 135 St. between 12:01 a.m. Saturday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, in both directions. 

F Train:  From 11:45 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound F trains will run express between Smith-9th St. and Church Avenue.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, Queens-bound F trains will skip 14th St. and 23rd St.

From 12:01 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday nights, Jamaica-bound F trains will run local from 21 St.-Queensbridge to Forest Hills-71 Avenue. 

At all times throughout the spring, Coney Island-bound F trains will skip Ditmas Avenue. For service to this station, take a Coney Island-bound train to 18 Av and transfer to a Jamaica-bound train. For service from Ditmars Avenue, take a Jamaica-bound train to Church Avenue and transfer to a Coney Island-bound train. 

L Train: Service is suspended between Rockaway Parkway and Myrtle-Wyckoff Ave., from 11:30 p.m. Friday through 5:00 a.m. Monday. There will be free local and express shuttle buses for alternate service. 

N Train: Astoria-Ditmars Blvd.-bound N trains will continue to skip 86 St., Avenue U, Kings Highway, 20 Avenue, 18 Avenue, New Utrecht Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway at all times through spring 2017. 

For service to 86 St., Avenue U and Kings Highway, take an Astoria-bound N train to Bay Parkway and transfer to a Coney Island-bound train. 

For service to 20 Avenue, 18 Avenue, New Utrecht Avenue and Fort Hamilton Parkway, take an Astoria bound N to 8th Avenue and transfer to a Coney Island-bound train. 

From these stops, take a Coney Island-bound train to Bay Parkway or Stillwell Avenue and transfer to an Astoria-bound train. For service to New Utrecht Avenue-62nd St., take the D train. Transfer to an Astoria-bound N train at 36th St.

Q Train: From 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, service will be extended to Ditmars Blvd. 

S Shuttle: From 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday to Monday, the shuttle will operate overnight.
