STATEN ISLAND — A man was arrested after he allegedly shot out 21 car windows with a BB gun while he was drunk earlier this month, prosecutors said.

Anthony Padovano, 39, got drunk on March 10 then drove around shooting a BB gun out of his car and breaking the windows of vehicles in neighborhoods across the borough, including Castleton Corners, Shore Acres and Arden Heights, prosecutors said.

When he was arrested on Tuesday, Padovano told police, "I stupidly drank and I don't remember much of where I was," according to court documents.

"I drove around a couple of neighborhoods with a silver BB gun and shot out some windows of cars and possibly a Nissan dealership. I am truly sorry."

Padovano was charged with 21-counts of criminal mischief at his arraignment, according to the Staten Island District Attorney's office.

His bail was set at $2,000 and he's due back in court on April 4, according to online court documents.

Padovano's lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
