SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — Farm-fresh fruit and vegetables are making their return to the South Street Seaport.

The Fulton Stall Market's outdoor slate of artisanal food and produce vendors is returning to the Seaport on April 10.

The outdoor market will bring roughly 20 farmers and food sellers to Fulton and Water streets each Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Last year, the outdoor vendors set up along Front Street, in front of the Fulton Stall Market's year-round indoor space, but because of ongoing construction at the Fulton Market Building across the street — which will soon house an indoor Smorgasburg starting Memorial Day weekend — the sellers are setting up a block away, said Phillip St. Pierre, general manager for Seaport developer, The Howard Hughes Corporation.

The under-construction Fulton Market Building will be the home of a new, eat-in movie theater in October — the upscale theater was originally slated to open this June.

Sunday's launch of the market — which only uses farmers that are within 250 miles of the city — will feature live bands, as well as arts and crafts for kids, St. Pierre said.

"We're looking forward to bringing back this outdoor market for the neighborhood," St. Pierre said. "It's a great way to bring farm fresh produce and vegetables to the community."

The outdoor market will continue to run through the fall, weather permitting.

Fulton Stall Market's indoor space at 207A Front St. is also open daily, with its artisanal food and craft vendors, seating, and even its own live radio broadcast.
